Understand 4K, HDR and picture quality

01 Resolution and quality

Resolution describes pixel count; HDR concerns brightness range and colour. A 4K TV alone is insufficient: title, plan, app and connection chain must be compatible. A badge may not show what your device actually receives.

02 Check playback chain

To diagnose interruptions, test another title and device, then compare Wi-Fi and wired connections if possible. Check data settings. Compression affects dark-scene detail: sharpening cannot recover missing information.

03 Evaluate a scene

Choose cinema mode and adapt brightness to the room. If the image is too dark, check HDR settings and manufacturer advice first. Black bars often preserve the film’s aspect ratio; zooming may crop the frame.

Frequently asked questions

Is 4K enough?

Master, compression and display matter too. Compare shadows and movement, not just pixel count.
